When a brand or event collaborates with an artist year after year there’s a special type of magic that happens, an extra layer of success as concepts are pushed and the relationship grows. 2017 marks the fourth year that Merijn Hos has worked collaboratively as an art director with the Down the Rabbit Hole Festival, developing illustrations used across social media, web, animations, and at the event on billboards, signage, decoration, and even lycra tights!
Teaming with his brother Jurriaan Hos who is an animator, Merijn works for months in advance conceptualising and developing artworks to fit the various formats. The images are released as teasers through press, and on social media as animations in the lead up to the event. Attendees receive tickets with illustrations and upon arrival are welcomed with a visual delight in the form of displays, merchandise, sets and decorations all featuring Merijn’s designs.
