Did you know you can licence existing artworks?

Paul Blow

When faced with an illustration requirement, but a tight budget for a Melbourne Food and Wine event flyer, Embla Melbourne (who are huge Paul Blow fans) instead decided to seek our assistance to find the perfect image to license. This “Friendly Fire” image is so perfectly suited for their event that they are now planning to license artworks on a regular basis in future.

If you haven’t considered licensing an artwork before, it can be a great way to engage an artist when working to a smaller budget, an urgent deadline, or if you’ve just seen the perfect piece in an artist folio that you can’t move past. In general, most of our artists have a huge back catalogue of personal work, old projects that are no longer in use, or folio pieces from previous years that are just sitting on file. These files, if not under license to a client already are most often available to license with the artist permission. Removing the process of developing the artwork with the artist yourself means there are no creation fees and the licensing costs are based on how and where you want to use the image - the perfect solution for smaller budgets!

If you are looking for a specific kind of image, or are interested in licensing something you have seen from one of our artists, please contact Kelly to discuss your requirements further.
